About Us

We are a group of students in UWCCSC dealing with the large amount of unserved food waste due to several reasons such as overproduction and the inconsistent number of consumer demand that are produced by school canteens. Although the unserved food is still safe and consumable, it is often discarded because of national regulations, logistics and lack of redistribution.

Our goal is to reduce unserved food waste in school canteens and develop a practical, transferable model that can be adapted and implemented in other schools.

Guided Solutions

We designed a redistribution system that redistributes unserved food to third-party staff in the school, such as guards and cleaners, while bringing them benefits such as cheaper meals with more convenient accessibility.

Our system has already demonstrated measurable results, including reducing daily food waste (saving around 3.5-6kg per day) and providing affordable, convenient meals for staff. Our project promotes responsible consumption and more equitable resource distribution within the existing institutional systems.
